Unlike the fictitious corporate-brand figureheads Betty Crocker, Juan Valdez or that Geico Gecko, Stanley Kaplan is the name of an actual person, who happened to be the real pioneer of SAT prep as we know it. In fact to this day, anyone who preps for the SAT owes a small debt to Stanley Kaplan.
